Rafael Pitarello and Juliana Lima

'Swing do Black' Champions


Rafael Pitarello and Juliana Lima are passionate about Samba and bring their distinctive São Paulo style to their Samba de Gafieira.

 Rafael gained performance and choreography experience working as part of the Costa and Mistral Cruise dance team, working the season from 2010-2011 and in 2015, Rafael and Juliana competed in the prestigious “Swing do Black” competition in São Paulo where they were crowned champions.


Since arriving in Australia, Rafael and Juliana have worked with Australia’s longest running Latin Dance Academy; Rio Rhythmics, in Brisbane. 

Sasha Mazzeu

International Samba Queen 2017


Sasha is a Brazilian culture lover who, over the last 10 years, has dedicated her life to travelling and studying Brazilian culture and its endless array of dance and music. She has trained extensively under world famous masters in many styles including Brazilian zouk, Samba de Gafieira and Samba no Pe. Whilst living in Pernambuco, she trained in Frevo, Maracatu, Ciranda and Coco which she now integrates into her Samba to create her very unique style.  She is also the newly crowned International Samba Queen!

Magno Matias and Sasha have formed an exciting new partnership, working between Brazil and Australia to bring you the latest trends in dance! 

Magno Matias

International Guest from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil


Let us introduce to you Australia's latest dance royalty! Magno has been working as a professional performer, instructor and choreographer all around Brazil for the last 11 years. He is an instructor at the world famous Jimmy de Oliveira's dance academy as well as holds a huge dance event called Baixada em Danca in Rio de Janeiro's north. Magno has expertise in Samba Tradicional, Samba Funkeado, Brazilian Zouk, Bolero, Forro, Samba no Pe and many more styles! 


After meeting Sasha Mazzeu in Brazil more than 8 years ago, they have finally made the stars align to work together and bring Brazil a little closer to Australia. 

Stephanie Rose

Samba No Pe Instructor, Paradiso Brisbane


Stephanie grew up in Australia dancing jazz, tap and ballet and was introduced to samba no pé in 2005. She immediately fell in love with the intoxicating rhythm and she pursued this style intensively. She is passionate about reaching a deeper more authentic connection with the dance and has been to Brazil 5 times to learn from high from calibre artists. This year she was heavily involved in carnival and paraded as an international passista in Estacio De Sá - Rio De Janeiro, destaque in Copa Lord - Florianópolis, destaque in Unidos da Tijuca - Rio De Janeiro and destaque in the 2017 champion school Portela - Rio De Janeiro.

Tony Lara

World 1st International Bachata Instructor & Performer


When Tony Lara was not popular he worked extremely hard to spread the love for dancing to Bachata Music all over the World. His secret weapon to inspiring dancers to take up and dance Bachata was his cheeky yet contagious nature.


Tonys workshops are always engaging, full of fun and packed with cool and sensual moves. The concept behind his teaching is to teach student to enjoy the music, the rhythm, creating moves and entertaining their dance partner. If you really want to discover the dancer within take a private with Tony as he is an expert on Body Mechanics, Floor Pressure and Energy Transferance.

World Bachata Champions 2016

Carlos Redondo (Spain) and Chloe Loh (Australia) both now living in Brisbane, Australia are a new dance couple that have emerged to bring his European bachata style and her sexy and dynamic Australian style together. They have been dancing together for less than one year, so they knew that they had a mountain to climb if they are going to represent Australia around the world with their fresh urban bachata style. With a focus on working with their strengths and upgrading their weaknesses they brought a vibrant and energetic feel to the Latin Scene and their journey, that has just started, is being an exciting one. Their goal is to share their love for bachata providing something completely new and fresh to latin scene.

Silvi Milans

Samba No Pe Instructor


Silvi Pereira Milans, of Brazilian and Portuguese decent, was the first Samba Choreographer, Instructor and Performer in South Australia. She has been promoting and educating people about Brazilian culture, dance and music throughout South Australia and Australia & New Zealand for over 15 years. Silvi’s versatile dance background includes Samba, Zouk Lambada, Forro’ & Portuguese Folkloric dances, Salsa and more,  is what makes her performances and classes stand out  In 2014, she was awarded at the Sydney Latin Festival (Australia’s Largest Latin Dance Event) “Outstanding Contribution to the Latin Dance Industry, a huge honour to be awarded & recognised in Australia. 

Csaba Szirmai

World Class Performer, Australian Champion

On your TV you could follow Csaba as a Celebrity dance instructor on channel 7’s “Dancing With The Stars” in Australia and New Zealand for the past 7 series.

He is the Winner of  “Strictly Dancing” national TV show, dancer in the hit blockbuster movies including  ‘The Great Gatsby’ and also a choreographer for “So You Think You Can Dance” as seen on channel 10.

Originally from Hungary, Csaba was truly born to dance. He discovered the art form of dance at the age of 11 and became the Hungarian Youth Ballroom and Latin American Champion at only 16 years of age!

Carlos Galiano and Elli Torres

Australian Salsa Cabaret Champions/ Female Solo Champion 

Between them Carlos and Elli have represented Brisbane and Australia as
instructors and performers, locally, nationally and internationally in
cities such as Puerto Rico, Madrid, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Sydney, New
Zealand, India, Hong Kong, Canada, and more.

Carlos and Elli are founders of Brisbane's premier Salsa academy, Latin
Steps Dance Company. They have trained and developed some of Queensland
and Australia’s key dancers and teams.

Madalyn Milazzo & Roberto Paul

Australian National Champions 

Madalyn Milazzo has been dancing, performing, competing and teaching for over 15 years. She is a National Latin Champion and is best known in the industry for her unique feminine styling. She can't wait for the first ever Sunshine Coast Latin Dance Festival!

Roberto is the personification of SABOR! Originally from Mauritius. He has mesmerized dancers in major events overseas and all over Australia. As a Dancer/Performer his ability to read the crowd is “second to none”. We don’t know if it’s his charisma, his easy going character, his well hearted nature or simply because he is one of the best at what he does…but this man is one of Australia’s most sought after DJ, Instructor and Performer. He is a very positive influence and a constant source of inspiration for everyone in the Brisbane and Australian Latin Dance Scene.
